Introduction

This book is a tetraglot, (four language Bible text), interpretation of Genesis 1-3. These chapters are the most essential for every younger and older believer, Messianic Jew or Christian. We must have a firm understanding of God’s Word, especially in these three chapters. From the beginning of time, Satan has been contradicting, diluting, misdirecting and using many of the techniques which lawyers use today to win arguments.

Many Christians today, including most pastors and Christian educators have some false ideas about God’s Word in these three chapters. These are essential to know truthfully.

This is a comprehensive work which begins with the relevant textual comments, then the exegetical and theological interpretations, and when relevant, the scientific interpretation.

The author is a conservative, reformed theologian, and scientist who taught Advanced Chemistry, Advanced Biology, general Physics, Earth, and Space Sciences.

Every text is presented in four blocks. First, in top left is the original, the exact inspired Word of God in the original Hebrew text. Next, in the top right, the English translation. Next, in the bottom left, the Greek Septuagint translation. And last, in bottom right, the Aramaic Onkelos Targum.

Why do we need to examine the text in its original language?

The original language of the Bible is the Hebrew Language. The Bible has been translated to hundreds of languages. Next to the Hebrew language, two languages are of extreme value in Biblical studies: the Aramaic language, and the Greek language. Both the Aramaic and the Greek languages were the lingua franca at the time of the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Aramaic was also the lingua franca at the times of all the Patriarchs until they entered the Promised Land, then the Hebrew language became the lingua franca. The Aramaic was widely used, and became very important due the the dispersion and the captivity of the Jews to Babylon and the Chaldee lands.

Introduction Page 5

Whenever we are examining the Bible theologically, it is important to use the original Hebrew language, and the original oldest translations, the Greek Septuagint (LXX) and the Aramaic Targum. For the young Christian and for those who did not study these languages, you may want to skim over ‘The Textual Comments Sections’. We hope that this encourages the young Christian to study the original languages as they open treasures from the Word of God.

In the area of exegesis and theology, Satan provided the Christian church with hundreds of heresies. We may expose some of them briefly to alert the faithful believer of their presence and danger. Our goal is not to learn the heresies, but to learn the positive Word of God from a theistic perspective.

This book is comprehensive and scholarly. We hope and trust that it will provide answers to every Bible student and every Bible scholar, or at least, to provide them with the right direction for the answers.

We request that you read the book in the spirit of prayer, requesting the guidance of the Holy Spirit to bring light and illuminate your heart with the correct meaning of His Word.
